Meet the Inspirational Treasure Family!
Comprising four remarkable individuals, Damion, Lakisha, Daylen, and Dayce, the Treasure Family brings a wealth of experiences, passions, and pursuits that epitomize the spirit of community and camaraderie.
Damion and Lakisha are the pillars of the Treasure Family. Their journey of love and togetherness spans 15 beautifully fulfilling years of marriage. This love story has its roots in the serendipitous meeting in 2007, in their New Jersey neighborhood.
Fate intervened when Damion and Lakisha's paths crossed, leading to a spontaneous introduction that would forever change their lives. As their connection deepened, they recognized their shared values of placing faith and family at the forefront of their bond. The unbreakable treasure they've cultivated lies in their dedication to ensuring their family's needs and desires are always met, fostering an unshakable unity.
While Lakisha hails from Norfolk, Virginia, where she grew up in the embrace of the Greenbrier community, Damion’s journey began in St. Catherine, Jamaica. The richness of their diverse backgrounds adds depth and vibrancy to their family’s narrative.
Lakisha’s educational journey took her to Norfolk State University, where her determination drove her to become the first family member to graduate from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Armed with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, she embarked on an impressive career trajectory. Over 17 years, Lakisha has supported the Department of Defense (Navy, Army & AFRICOM), and she currently serves as the Assistant Program Manager at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
Damion, on the other hand, has channeled his creativity and expertise into Treasurely Designed (Triple D Exhibit) his own contracting business specializing in designing custom exhibits, corporate interiors, museums, systems, special events, portable displays, trade show services, as well as residential and corporate renovations. There is nothing he cannot build.
As an entrepreneurial force, Damion’s journey reflects his commitment to turning visions into reality.
Daylen and Dayce, the radiant and energetic younger members of the family, embody the spirit of curiosity and discovery. Engaging in a myriad of activities such as basketball, dining, and church, they are an integral part of the Treasure Family’s vibrant dynamic.
The Treasure Family’s contributions extend beyond their household walls. Lakisha’s involvement with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Norfolk and First Call Family Resources underscores her commitment to helping children and families access necessary care. Her co-authorship of “She’s Got the Power: Women Building Wealth Through Financial Literacy and Sisterhood” reflects her dedication to empowering others. Their involvement in their church, New Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, illustrates their strong community ties.
As they savor their favorite Jamaican dishes and bask in the comfort of each other’s company, the Treasure family exemplifies the essence of unity, resilience, and a shared journey.
